PROJECT OBJECTIVE

The objective of the ABAMCA project is to apply combinatorial auctions and agent-based modeling methodologies to develop a platform that reduces the current imbalance between supply and demand in the additive manufacturing market for subcomponents.

This general objective can be broken down into a set of specific objectives:

1. Collect and update the relevant literature in the field of combinatorial auctions and agent-based modeling.
2. Research and model the characteristics of the market for additive manufacturing of subcomponents so that the model developed can capture this market’s complexity.
3. Demonstrate the potential of combinatorial auctions together with agent-based modeling to solve and optimize allocation problems in this sector.
4. Develop a pilot agent-based combinatorial auction model for the allocation of subcomponent-demanding companies and additive-manufacturing suppliers.
5. Implement the pilot model in multi-agent software.
6. Adapt and refine the pilot model to the needs of the companies participating in the project.
7. Validate the performance of the prototype model based on the simulations performed.
8. Disseminate the results of scientific research in relevant journals and conferences. Promote the results among the stakeholders in this market (industrial customers, additive manufacturing companies, etc.).
